A practitioner-led course to the Private Equity and Venture Capital world, taught by top-tier professionals who actively work in PE and VC and make investment decisions on a daily basis. Delivered by the Lithuanian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (LT VCA) in collaboration with Vilnius University (VU), the course is designed for entrepreneurs, startup founders, business angels, service providers, and ecosystem participants who want to understand how the Private Equity and Venture Capital world really works.

No prior experience in Private Equity or Venture Capital is required. The course is accessible to those new to the field, while still delivering practical frameworks, real market examples, and insider perspectives shared by industry professionals — ensuring value for participants at every stage.

About the course

For four consecutive years, the Lithuanian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (LT VCA) and Vilnius University have jointly delivered a structured and accessible course that introduces participants to the fundamentals of the Private Equity and Venture Capital market.

Originally developed for Vilnius University students with no prior exposure to PE or VC, the course has evolved into a trusted foundation for the broader ecosystem. Over time, it has attracted entrepreneurs, startup founders, business angels, service providers, and other ecosystem participants seeking a clear, practical understanding of how PE and VC markets operate and how investment decisions are made in practice.

To date, the course has welcomed 400+ participants, achieved a 93% satisfaction rate, and awarded over €8,000 in scholarships, reflecting both its impact and continued relevance.

Private Equity and Venture Capital are often discussed, but rarely explained clearly. This course focuses on building strong mental models of how the PE and VC world actually works — from fund structures and investment logic to decision-making processes and value creation.

Participants will learn:
