Baltic VCA Summit 2026: Building One Coordinated Capital Region
At the end of August, the Baltic PE/VC community gathered in Haapsalu, Estonia, for the Baltic VCA Summit 2026 under the theme "No Man Is an Island."
LTVCA joined our Estonian and Latvian counterparts with a shared message: small, open economies cannot operate as isolated startup ecosystems. To navigate global shifting dynamics, the Baltics must function as one integrated, strategic capital region.
Key Takeaways for Our Ecosystem
- Navigating Global Shifts: Early-stage funding remains active, but growth rounds (>€50M–€200M) increasingly rely on US capital. Europe needs stronger anchor tech players and unified regional backing.
- Unlocking Pension Funds: Regional productivity requires strategic investment. Redirecting just 1 additional percentage point of Baltic pension inflows into local assets annually could inject ~€500M into the ecosystem over 5 years.
- Solid Fundamentals: Data presented by Isomer Capital highlighted that Baltic funds continue to show lower loss ratios than many European peers, confirming the resilience of our startup ecosystem.
- Stronger Connections: Day two brought deep dives into key regional verticals—including a DefenceTech roundtable—alongside informal networking.
