The Lithuanian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (LT VCA) and Vilnius University (VU) have officially formalized their long-standing collaboration by signing a strategic cooperation agreement. This partnership marks a significant milestone in bridging the gap between academic excellence and the high-stakes world of private capital, focusing on professional financial education and the development of a world-class talent pipeline for the Baltic region.

Cultivating the Next Generation of Investment Leaders

For the LT VCA, this agreement is a strategic investment in the human capital that will drive the future of the Lithuanian economy. By aligning with the country’s leading academic institution, the Association aims to demystify the venture capital and private equity sectors for students, providing them with the practical tools and professional networks required to excel in global financial markets.

Rūta Mačiulytė-Valickienė, Executive Director at LT VCA, emphasizes: "Financial literacy and knowledge of capital markets today is not a luxury, but a necessity for every young person who seeks to understand how value is created and how a modern economy grows. We believe that this course will not only provide a solid foundation for professional growth, but will also encourage young people to start or continue their careers in Lithuania - joining the growing private and venture capital ecosystem and creating long-term value for the country's economy."

Bridging Theory and Practice: Breaking into the Finance World

The cornerstone of this collaboration is the highly successful elective course, "Break into the Finance World" now entering its fourth year. This program stands out for its hands-on approach, with lectures delivered by top-tier practitioners from leading firms such as FIRSTPICK, Contrarian Ventures, Practica Capital, Invalda INVL Group, and Superia to name a few. These firms collectively manage over €3 billion in assets, offering students an unprecedented look into the mechanics of regional and international finance.

To further incentivize excellence, the LT VCA has established performance-based rewards for the course’s top achievers, including significant monetary prizes for the highest-performing students. Beyond financial rewards, the partnership opens direct career paths through exclusive opportunities for internships and mentorship within the Association’s extensive network of member funds.

By formalizing this bond, the LT VCA is committing to a pipeline of talent that will sustain the industry for decades. Investing in financial literacy today is a fundamental step toward securing Lithuania’s economic leadership and its status as a premier hub for regional finance and technology.
